Baby Girl’s half of the room…

Little Miss shares her room with my baby girl so I had to find a way to give them a room that blended both of their ages—not too mature, not too babyish.  By the time I had my baby girl, the fabric that I used for the PB inspired quilt for Little Miss was way past being out of stock—at EVERY online and local store I called.  I was lucky to find Barbara Jones’ Simply Sweet for Henry Glass & Co. fabric line that coordinates so well with the Bubblegum line from a few years ago—and that’s when it all came together!!

I made the crib skirt and the crib sheet from the same pattern I used for my other three kiddos.  I had to add the jumbo rick rack to the bottom—because, if you haven’t noticed already, I am addicted to rick rack.  It’s true!!

I DID NOT make the bumpers, I just embellished some store bought bumpers.  The reason I didn’t make them is because even though this would have been the 4th time making baby bumpers—I still cannot make decent looking baby bumpers to save my life!!  There!!  I said it, I let them get the best of me one too many times… I bought some at the local baby store and then cut off the ugly ties, and replaced them with cute red and white polka dot ribbon, and then added jumbo red rick rack to the top.  I love the way it turned out—and the fact that they did turn out at all compared to past disasters!!

Here’s what baby girl’s half of the room looks like…

The crib used to be a honey brown color, and had been used and abused by two of our kids, and a niece and nephew!!  I’m surprised it wasn’t chewed down to toothpicks after my little guy had it…  But we managed to salvage it and give it a fresh coat of paint and it looks brand new!!  The wall decals I found on Etsy.

The apple mobile was re-purposed from being a flower mobile for Little Miss, and a sock monkey mobile for my little guy—I decoupaged fabric strips to plastic apples from the craft store and then attached them to them with embroidery floss.:)

And last and maybe even “least,” is my collage for the girls’ wall.  I love it, but it took me forever to love it.  I arranged the frames several different times on the floor trying to get the right look that I wanted, and settled on this one.  Arranging frames is not my strength!!  I’m still learning and I love rearranging stuff on my walls—drives the hubby crazy, or at least it used to until we bought a big thing of putty for the walls(now he’s prepared, so he doesn’t complain!).

The pink and red fabric frame on the bottom was really easy to make, and I’m going to share my tips and show some of my other fabric covered frames later this week…if you become a follower of my blog you won’t miss out on any of the details!!
