I saw a similar quilt like this one at Pottery Barn a couple of years ago but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I really wanted to make my own, but wasn’t getting any inspiration. Then I walked into Material Girls and saw Barbara Jones’ Bubble Gum Basics by Henry Glass fabrics and FELL IN LOVE!! I bought a bunch of coordinating fabrics and some matching jumbo rick rack, and went home and designed a quilt for my Little Miss.
My mom helped me sew this up and then she machine quilted the whole thing for me!! She did a different pattern on every strip block including a cute paper doll pattern of girls holding hands—love it!!! She did an amazing job that will be treasured forever!
And I had enough fabric leftover to make a decorative pillow case and pillow with our family mantra—laugh out loud!!
And since I still had leftover fabric, waste not want not, I made a valance for her window…
Go ahead and say it, this one really is SEW SWEET!!!
